It is regularly assumed that current generations want to see more sense in their work and that organizations should generally orient themselves towards this. It is an assertion that I do not wish to refute, but I’d like to sensitize you for additional motivational factors. With regard to the organization, the teams, and their members, I would like to explore with you the common motivational factors in a small group exercise. What motivates you to work where and how you work? What, maybe, motivates your peers, bosses, customers, etc. The motivation cake helps you to understand and reflect on the basic motivation of others and to adapt your actions accordingly. So, why not ask them? Finally, I would like to discuss with you the possible applications of the motivational cake in your environment.
